Disclaimer & Legal Notice

Last updated: 2026

Summary: Roof Artisan provides temporary emergency roof tarping and water-damage mitigation only. Roof Artisan is not a Florida state-licensed or certified roofing contractor and does not perform permanent roof repair, re-roofing, or replacement. For permanent work, hire a licensed and insured Florida roofing contractor.

1. Nature of Services

Roof Artisan offers temporary, emergency protective measures — primarily the installation of tarps and similar coverings — intended to reduce or slow water intrusion following storm damage, leaks, or other roof emergencies. These are temporary mitigation measures only and are not a permanent repair, restoration, or replacement of any roof or roofing component.

2. Licensing Disclosure

Roof Artisan is not a licensed or certified roofing contractor as defined under Chapter 489, Florida Statutes, and the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) / Construction Industry Licensing Board (CILB). Florida law generally requires a licensed contractor for roof repair, re-roofing, and replacement work. Roof Artisan does not perform, offer, or hold itself out as authorized to perform any work that requires such a license.

Temporary emergency tarping intended solely to prevent imminent further damage may, under certain conditions and applicable emergency provisions, be performed without a roofing-contractor license. Requirements and exemptions can change and vary by jurisdiction. Property owners are encouraged to verify current requirements with the DBPR and their local building department.

3. No Guarantee of Results

Roof Artisan makes no warranty or guarantee, express or implied, regarding the prevention of water intrusion, leaks, mold, structural damage, or any other outcome. Weather, roof condition, and other factors outside our control affect results. Tarping is a stop-gap measure and does not ensure a watertight roof.

4. Recommendation to Hire a Licensed Contractor

For any permanent roof repair, replacement, or structural work, you should obtain an inspection and services from a licensed and insured Florida roofing contractor. You can verify a contractor's license at the DBPR website. Roof Artisan can recommend you consult such a contractor but does not perform that work.

5. Insurance Claims

Roof Artisan is not a public adjuster, law firm, or insurance company and does not provide insurance, legal, or claims advice. Any statements regarding insurance are general information only. Consult your insurer and/or a licensed professional regarding coverage and claims.

6. Informational Purposes Only
